West African Drumming for Women - Classes in Asheville
Learn west African drumming with other women in a safe and supportive environment. Playing the djembe with a group of women drummers is fun and has many benefits:
- Learn a new skill
- Create music with a drumming community
- Relieve stress
- Exercise your body
- Challenge your mind
- Make new friends
Classes are open to all skill levels from beginners to advanced drummers. A good place to start is in our all-levels class which meets on Tuesday, 3 pm in East Asheville. Let me know if you are interested in this class or classes at a different time. Also let me know if you'd like to host a series of classes at your location. Loaner drums are available. Cost is $15 per class or four classes for $50.
Instructor Ann Lovell is the director of Wild Bodema women's drum troupe and is a Certified Associate Instructor with Tam Tam Mandingue Djembe Academy, Winston-Salem. For more information, contact Ann at annlo...@yahoo.com.
"The djembe does not know color; the djembe does not know gender; the djembe does not know age; it only knows your heart. The mission of Tam Tam Mandingue is to promote tolerance, understanding, equality, and international peace." - Mamady Keita
